About festival invitations
There is a difference between a festival greeting and a festival invitation, and most of what circulates on WhatsApp is the former. A greeting says happy Diwali; an invitation says come to our house at seven on the fourteenth. The designs here are built for the second job, with room for a date, a time and an address.
Festival invitations travel late and travel fast — often only a few days ahead, and almost always through a group chat rather than by post. Keeping them short is not a compromise; a fifteen to thirty second film is more likely to be watched to the end.
The catalogue covers Diwali and Lakshmi puja, Holi, Eid, Navratri and garba nights, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Pongal and Christmas.
What to put on the invitation
- Which festival, and the date
- Festival dates move each year — never assume.
- Time and address
- The line that separates an invitation from a greeting.
- What is happening
- Lakshmi puja, garba, lunch, cards — guests plan around it.
- Dress code
- White for Holi, traditional for garba, if it matters to you.
In your language
The headings are set in the language, not transliterated — so the film reads as a card rather than as an English layout with translated text dropped in.
Festival invitation questions
- What is the difference between a festival greeting and an invitation?
- A greeting carries good wishes; an invitation carries a date, a time and an address. These designs are built for the second, with fields for all three, though they work as greetings if you leave the details out.
- Which festivals do you have designs for?
- Diwali and Lakshmi puja, Holi, Eid, Navratri and garba, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Pongal and Christmas, with designs suited to both home gatherings and larger parties.
- How late can I send a festival invitation?
- Three to five days ahead is normal and often later. Renders finish in minutes, so an invitation ordered in the morning can be in a group chat by lunchtime.
