Festival invitations in Hindi
Hindi wedding invitations follow a settled form: a deity line at the top, the host line naming the elders who are inviting, the bride and groom with their parents’ names beneath, and the mangal karyakram — the list of ceremonies — in the order they fall. The headings in these designs are set in Hindi, so the film reads as a card rather than as an English template with Hindi pasted into it.
You can type names in Devanagari or in Latin script, and many families mix the two deliberately: the elders’ names in Hindi, the couple’s in English, because that is how the printed cards in the family have always looked.
Set in the film
- उत्सव का निमंत्रण — the invitation heading
- मंगल कार्यक्रम — the ceremonies
- स्थान — the venue label
- निवेदक — the RSVP line
Hindi invitation questions
- Can I type names in Hindi?
- Yes. Type directly in Devanagari using your phone’s Hindi keyboard, or type in English — both render, and many families deliberately mix the two on one card.
- Are the headings translated or transliterated?
- Translated. The film draws विवाह निमंत्रण, मंगल कार्यक्रम and निवेदक as set Hindi text, not a romanisation.
