Upanayanam invitation wording
A programme, not an event — the invitation has to carry the whole morning.
An upanayanam runs through several distinct rituals across a morning, often beginning before dawn. Guests attending only part of it need to know which part happens when, and an invitation with a single time will send most of them at the wrong hour.
Use the name your family uses — upanayanam, janeu, yagnopavit, munja, brahmopadesham, poonal. All of them are correct for the people who use them.

Getting it right
- List every ritual with its own time. A single start time is not enough here.
- Include the previous evening’s nandi or puja if there is one.
- Name the grandparents — upanayanam invitations conventionally do.
- Muhurtham times are often before sunrise. Print them exactly as given.
